I really don’t know if anyone likes these, but they’re really fun to make. This final mock will be what I think will happen, which ultimately means nothing. There will be 6-10 trades tonight and it takes just 1 trade to blow up someone’s mock draft. With that being said, let’s have some fun, FINAL MOCK DRAFT LETS GO:
-ROUND 1-
1 - Bears - Caleb Williams - QB - USC
2- Commanders - Jayden Daniels - QB - LSU
A lot of weirdness around the Commanders pick… they brought in all 5 top QB’s on the same day, supposedly the Jayden Daniels meeting didn’t go well, but they also don’t want to go the UNC QB route again with Drake Maye? As of Thursday morning Jayden Daniels is -600 to go to WAS, I trust Vegas.
-TRADE: NE 1-3 to MIN for 1-11, 1-23, ‘25 1st & ‘26 2nd
3- Vikings - Drake Maye - QB - UNC
I think the Patriots like Jayden, Drake and JJ. They understand that roster is horrible and would love to cash in a massive haul….. and the Vikings want a QB now. Drake Maye feels like Kevin O’Connell’s #2 QB. I think 3 1’s and 2nd is enough, but the Vikings didn’t trade up to 1-23 a month before the draft for nothing, if they believe Drake Maye is a NFL franchise QB, go get him. No one remembers whats the Chiefs and Bills traded to get Patrick Mahomes & Josh Allen.
4- Cardinals - Marvin Harrison Jr - WR - Ohio State
Just do it.
5- Chargers - Joe Alt - OT - Notre Dame
Jim Harbaugh is going to want to build the trenches first, Joe Alt is the #1 lineman in a strong o-line class. Getting Justin Herbert a franchise tackle will be a huge help as they can attack WR next.
6- Giants - JJ McCarthy - QB - Michigan
The Daniel Jones era is over. Giants could jump to 4 for JJ in order to make sure no one trades ahead of them while the Cardinals still get a top WR at 6. There’s been a lot of reporters saying the Giants will not take JJ… like, a lot. I think you don’t make it this well known unless it’s a smokescreen. Brian Daboll & this regime is on the hot seat, going back to Daniel Jones will get everyone fired.
7- Titans - Olumuyiwa Fashanu - OT - Penn State
I don’t understand why a lot of mock drafts have Fashanu falling into the teens, he was the #1 OT if came out last season, he played in every game and allowed just 10 pressures in 2023. Fashanu is a legit franchise LT and the Titans had the worst o-line in the NFL last year. Alt or Fashanu A+ picks here.
-TRADE: ATL 1-8 to LV for 1-13 & 2-44
8- Raiders - Michael Penix Jr - QB - Washington
The Raiders have been tied to Michael Penix Jr, if they believe in him you need to take him in the 1st. With the Patriots & Broncos ahead of the Raiders, they may need to trade up here. Falcons need defensive help but should be willing to trade down here and grab 2-44, maybe more!
9- Bears - Malik Nabers - WR - LSU
The Bears with DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Malik Nabers and Cole Kmet would be an incredible set of weapons for Caleb Williams. With 4 QB’s going early, Chargers & Titans going LT for their young QB’s, Bears hit the jackpot.
10- Jets - Brock Bowers - TE - Georgia
The Jets desperately need offensive line help but have been tied to Brock Bowers, which helps that pass protection too. Aaron Rodgers will love this new addition.
11- Patriots - Bo Nix - QB - Oregon
I’m extremely intrigued by Bo Nix. I’m not sure what the difference is between Bo Nix, a super senior who had everything click his final 2 years in college vs Jayden Daniels, a super senior who had everything click his final 2 years in college. Bo Nix has good size, he won’t be the next Josh Allen or CJ Stroud, but I think he’s closer to Jayden & JJ than people are giving credit for. Pats get Bo Nix to sit behind Jacoby Brissett (Bailey Zappe still there) and gain 2 1’s + 2nd rounder to rebuild that offense.
-TRADE: DEN 1-12 to LAR for 1-19 & 2-52 & 5-154
12- Rams - Rome Odunze - WR - Washington
The Rams have a 1st round pick for the first time in forever, they are rumored to be trying to trade up. Broncos don’t have any QB’s to take here and don’t have a 2 this year, so this recoups that pick. With Cooper Kupp aging, Rome joins Puka making a great trio in 2024 and an elite duo for a long time.
13- Falcons - Dallas Turner - EDGE - Alabama
Turner is emerging as the favorite to be the first EDGE rusher off the board. The Falcons have addressed offense 3 years in a row in the 1st round (Pitts, London, Bijan), it’s time get new defensive minded HC Raheem Morris some pass rush help. The Falcons net the guy they wanted anyways at 8 + gain a 2nd rounder in the process.
14- Saints - Taliese Fuaga - OT - Oregon State
The Saints tackles struggled in 2023, Fuaga can step in and be their LT right away.
15 - Colts - Terrion Arnold - CB - Alabama
16 - Seahawks - Laiatu Latu - EDGE - UCLA
Colts & Seahawks fill major needs on their defense here.
17 - Jaguars - Quinyon Mitchell - CB - Toledo
Mitchell killed it at the combine, Jags defense addressed a lot this offseason, but really have just Campbell & Darby at corner. Could way to counter punch the Texans getting Diggs.
18 - Bengals - Byron Murphy II - DT - Texas
Bengals need to shore up both lines, Byron Murphy is extremely athletic defensive lineman who fits the Bengals front 7.
-TRADE DEN WR Courtland Sutton to PIT for mid-round pick
19 - Broncos - Brian Thomas Jr - WR - LSU
I think Courtland Sutton gets traded for a mid round pick to Pittsburgh today. He has 2 years left on his deal and wants an extension. He’s been on the trade block for awhile and really played well with Russell Wilson last year. Sean Payton now has his own guys at WR in Mims & Thomas, got his 2nd round pick back, 2 extra middle round picks and freed up some cap space.
20- Steelers - Graham Barton - C - Duke
The Steelers need to find their next great center as using Mason Cole post Maurkice Pouncey hasn’t gone well. Arthur Smith at OC means they’re going to run the ball a ton too.
21- Dolphins - Jer’Zhan Newton - DT - Illinois
Dolphins lost Wilkins this offseason and their defensive line needs reinforcements. Miami lacks depth on both lines, but this draft is deeper at o-line, so grab the d-line help now.
22- Eagles - Cooper DeJean - CB/S - Iowa
Eagles secondary is bad and getting old, Cooper DeJean is a freak athlete that can slide to corner or safety instantly for the Eagles.
23- Patriots - JC Latham - OT - Alabama
The reconstruction of the Patriots offense starts with Nix, they next need a starting tackle which Latham will be day 1.
24- Cowboys - Tyler Guyton - OT - Oklahoma
It’s time for the Cowboys to reload their offensive line. Tyron Smith went to the Jets this offseason. Guyton is also 6’7 and scored great at his pro day.
25- Packers - Amarius Mims - OT - Georgia
The OT run continues, Bakhtiari era is over so Jordan Love needs some protection at tackle. Mims is rumored to be falling a little bit, but he’s extremely talented at 6’7 340.
26- Bucs - Jared Verse - EDGE - Florida State
The QB heavy first 11 picks causes a lot of good talent to drop, Todd Bowles will love the pass rush help Verse would bring.
27- Cardinals - Troy Fautanu - C/G/OT - Washington
You’re not going to find many mocks with Fautanu falling to 27, but there’s rumors of him being medically flagged by some teams + there’s questions if he can play tackle. Luckily for the Cardinals they need him at guard, where he should be a mauler. I think he could transition to center too and bring an elite center skill set to the table. A physical run blocker will fit this scheme well, would be a fun pick.
28- Bills -Xavier Worthy - WR - Texas
The Bills badly need a WR and Xavier Worthy is an explosive deep threat Josh Allen will love.
29- Lions - Kool-Aid McKinstry - CB - Alabama
The Lions get a much need big outside CB to help out a bad secondary.
30- Ravens - Chop Robinson - EDGE - Penn State
Ravens can take best player available here and Chop Robinson is extremely athletic, won the combine essentially, and the Ravens need some youth in their d-line.
31- 49ers - Jordan Morgan - OT - UofA
UofA’s Jordan Morgan had a great season coming off a torn ACL, which means he could be a steal now 2-3 years removed from surgery and stronger than ever. 49ers need a plug and play RT, great draft to find that.
32- Chiefs - Nate Wiggins - CB - Clemson
I’ve mocked Ladd McConkey to KC everytime, but I think Wiggins fits the Chiefs defense perfectly. KC did sign Hollywood Brown, Skyy Moore enters year 3, Kelceis back and Rice likely will get a suspension but should take a massive year 2 jump after a great rookie year, so they can wait until next pick to address WR.
-2nd round-
33- Panthers - Ladd McConkey - WR - Georgia
Ladd’s combine shocked me as he tested the same as Devonta Smith. Panthers need offensive weapons for Bryce Young, Ladd can be a solid fit right away learning from Adam Theilen.
34- Patriots - Troy Franklin - WR - Oregon
The Pats need an explosive WR, Franklin is extremely fast and will give the Pats the much needed speed they miss. Reuniting college teammates Nix & Franklin should speed up their learning curves too.
35- Cardinals - Darius Robinson - EDGE - Missouri
It’s a weaker pass rush draft, so if Darius Robinson is here I’d take him. Darius Robinson is a super athletic big defensive lineman who played all over the d-line at Mizzou. The Cardinals have made several signings to the d-line, but they need a high upside young pass rusher like Robinson. 8.5 sacks last year too.
-Rest of the 2nd round-
